Bombers Shoot a Record Baker Series in Win at Moeller
The Bombers rolled into Crossgate Lanes on Tuesday January 25th to face off against the Moeller Crusaders. The Bombers had beaten twice this season, once in a head to head match up by 499 pins and once in a quad by almost 275 pins. The Bombers did not make the cut in the tournament over the weekend and looked to bounce back on the road.
In game one, the Bombers put up a team game of 1009 led by senior Chris Obert shooting a 233. Zack Beard continued the scoring putting up a 224 for the Bombers followed by Jared Littelmann with a 206. Jalen Morrow and Andrew Berkemeier shot scores of 178 and 168 for the Bombers. The Crusaders were paced by Andrew Kelly shooting a 188 on their way to an 849 team game.
The Bombers added on to their lead in game 2 with a team score of 955 to Moellers 907. Chris Obert again led the Bombers with a 227 for a 460 series. Jared Littelmann found the pocket more in this game to roll a 226 to finish a 432 series. Zack Beard put up a 169 for a 393 and Andrew Berkemeier shot a 160 for a 328. Jalen Morrow and Allen Rosal combined for a 173. The Moeller Crusaders high for the day was John Cordier with a 196 game 2. Heading into bakers, the Bombers were up 1964 to 1756.
In bakers, the Bombers came out firing with games of 244 and 217 to the Crusaders games of 155 and 154. The Bombers finished strong with games of 227 and 207 for an 895 series with the Crusaders rolling a 200 and 195 for a 704 series. Senior Euell Yohannes closed all 11 times in bakers with 8 strikes. The Bombers win their last road GCL match of the season 2859 to 2460.

The match was full of record performances. Chris Obert's 460 series is the 100th best 2 game series in school history. The Bombers as a team rolled the 65th best baker game with a 244 and the 34th best match series with a 2859. The Bombers' 895 baker series is the second best baker series in school history.
Upcoming Schedule
The Bombers end the month on the road against Lakota West on Thursday January 27th. The Bombers start February with the last GCL match of the season as they host the final Quad of the year on the 4th at 7pm. The Bombers then travel to Dayton to roll in the Blue and Gold District preview before returning home on the 8th to host the defending state champions, Kettering Fairmont. The Bombers then recognize all 7 seniors when they play Taylor High School on February 11th. The Muskingum University tournament originally scheduled for January 17th has been rescheduled to February 13th. The Bombers end the season on the road against the Oak Hills Highlanders on February 18th.
